Merthyr Valley Blocks
Rateavon installed a reinforced bitumen membrane systems to the roofs of eight low rise residential blocks in the Merthyr Valleys area, South Wales. Rateavon first stripped the existing metal corrugated roofing and then installed Bauder’s Total Roof System (warm roof construction), with 160/200mm PIR insulation with tapered gulleys. Rateavon also renewed the outlets & soil pipes, increased height of the parapets, added a new parapet finish and installed a handrail at roof level. This system reduced the roofs U-values to below 0.16W/(m2k) from over 0.63W/(m2k).
